Utah STORMnet

Utah‘s rapidly growing population and surging urban development are increasing pressure on water resources throughout the state, and the management approaches to addressing urban runoff are shifting.

Utah Stormwater Training, Outreach, Research, and Management network (STORMnet) is a comprehensive, statewide training initiative that provides outreach, education, capacity building, and connect stakeholders with current research and resources to prepare Utah for future water quality challenges associated with urban development. STORMnet offers tailored training in the form of workshops and courses for elected officials, contractors, watershed coordinators, design engineers and private citizens with different tracks for construction, post-construction/low impact development (LID), and industrial stormwater to provide relevant information to each group. Each track is comprised of an online course with supporting workshops and webinars that provide information focusing on mitigating stormwater impacts to water quality by reducing runoff volumes and sediment, nutrient, and pollutant transport to waterbodies.

STORMnet is currently in development, and courses, workshops, and webinars will become available in 2022. Check back soon for updates.
